2025 Area Business Support RLPOA AIS Effort

Area Business Support RLPOA’s AIS Efforts

Last fall, we reached out to several local businesses seeking their financial support as part of RLPOA’s aquatic invasive species (AIS) grant application. The owners of seven businesses signed letters of commitment to donate a total of $6,800.

The DNR uses a point scoring system to evaluate different aspects of the grant application. The overall grant score is used to determine the applicants that are awarded grants. One area that is evaluated is financial support from local organizations. The requirement is to have a signed letter of support stating the amount that each organization will donate to RLPOA.
The letters were included in RLPOA’s grant proposal, prepared by Joan Buehrle, which was submitted to the DNR last fall. We are pleased to share that those commitments from local organizations were key in getting RLPOA the points we needed. The RLPOA grant application was one of the last to be awarded a grant this year.  Without the points we earned from financial support from local organizations, we would not have earned the AIS grant.  More details about RLPOA’s AIS efforts will be forthcoming in the spring newsletter, arriving in your mailbox the latter part of May.
The largest donation was $5,000, which was donated by Alan and Gina Amatuzio, owners of the Round Lake Marina. Alan and Gina also personally donated an additional $1,000 to RLPOA’s AIS fund. In addition, we received AIS donations of $100 to $500 from six other business. Below is a complete list. Thank you for your support.
While all members are encouraged to donate to RLPOA’s AIS efforts, if you own a business, own a rental property and/or are involved with an organization and would like to make a financial commitment this fall that we can include with the 2026 AIS grant application, please contact Carol Kollodge at membership@roundlakes.org. We’d love to increase this list and the level of donations earned through great businesses like this.
To Round Lake Property Owners - please consider patronizing these businesses and personally contributing to RLPOA's AIS efforts.  And if you are not a 2025 member, please join!  Together, we can keep the lakes clean and safe and support the great businesses in the Hayward community.
